FHT-Accredited Pregnancy Massage Training at Cheltenham School of Complementary Therapy & Beauty
It’s difficult for massage therapists to decide what training they would like to invest in as there’s just so many courses out there to choose from. Some massage therapists decided to treat pregnant clients without additional specialist training. As long as therapists are insured, this is ok, although we would like to think that specialist pregnancy massage training gives qualified therapists an edge of knowledge and expertise that the client will respect.
I think most of us are finding that clients are more discerning than ever and in my own therapy I have definitely noticed more clients ask if I have specific training in pregnancy. I have also noticed that some professional organisations are ‘strongly advising’ massage therapists to partake in additional CPD training in order to be able to massage pregnant clients.
I fully believe that massage provides so much more than a sense of relaxation to pregnant clients. The psychological benefits are of course so important, especially when some ladies feel vulnerable. The physical benefits of massage are often underplayed, but I see pregnant ladies walking out of the therapy room straighter, sleeping better at night and functioning better overall.
Our next pregnancy massage course in Gloucestershire is on May 14th and 15th, 2018. If you would like to become a specialist in this area book your place now
