This two-day course is aimed at those looking to build their knowledge of massage. It is a thorough course that allows existing massage therapists to understand the body during pregnancy, and how best to position them during massage treatments.
About this course
This FHT-accredited course will be run over the period of 2 consecutive days. These two days provide the time to practise a variety of positions and to expand your knowledge of safe working and appropriate aftercare.
The first day will involve learning about pregnancy, specifically what happens over the 3 trimesters and how the body changes in 9 months. You will be taught about pathologies associated with pregnancy and gain an understanding as to whether you can offer treatments to women who present them.
You will then be introduced to different methods of massaging a pregnant client and be able to position them correctly throughout their pregnancy.
The second day of training is practical, so you will learn how to massage the pregnant woman from the beginning to the end of her pregnancy as well as in the first stages of labour. You will also find out how to massage them in different positions and using different pieces of equipment like a couch and birthing ball.
When is this course?
The Pregnancy Massage course will be running on Sunday 12th & Monday 13th September 2021. The course will cost £250 for the two days. Please note, you must already have a Level 3 qualification in massage to join this course.
