Aromatherapy Training Course at Cheltenham School of Complementary Therapy & BeautyEssential oils have been used for centuries, by many different cultures.

There is an ancient history of the use of plants as medicines as well as within cosmetics and perfumes.  Tree bark, roots, leaves, petals and flowers are just some of the elements of plants where essences can be obtained from.  When taken from plants, the essences are pure and very strong and this is the reason that only 1 or 2 drops of an essential oil are put into a blend, mixed with a carrier oil, like almond or grapeseed oil.

Essential oils can be extremely toxic if used incorrectly. There is a recent trend for putting oils directly on the skin. With the trend, we have witnessed an increase of reported skin burns, with blisters, lasting several weeks. Education in how to use essential oils safely is key as they can potentially be toxic and misuse will cause injury.

At Cheltenham School of Complementary Therapy & Beauty we love sharing information about aromatherapy and we offer courses in Massage and Aromatherapy at our training centre in Gloucestershire.  We do sometimes have courses for people who would just like to use aromatherapy in their home but we mainly offer accredited courses for people wishing to provide professional treatments to others.  We have trained people who have now set up as professional massage therapists/aromatherapists.

On the VTCT-Accredited Aromatherapy training course  we teach you about over 30 essential oils and their properties, as well as at least 10 base oils.  We cover so much more, including anatomy and physiology, extraction of essential oils, safe dilution and massage techniques for full-body massage.

Our courses in Gloucestershire are often attended by people from various towns within reach of Cheltenham. In the past few years we have had students from Oxford, Bristol, Worcester, Birmingham and other surrounding areas.

Our next Aromatherapy Level 3 diploma course (VTCT accredited) runs from 6th October 2018 and you can find out more information about it by visiting the page of our website :  http://www.thetherapyschool.co.uk/complementary-therapy-training/aromatherapy-diploma-vtct-level-3/
